The Disabled NHS Directors Network was established in 2020, and is the national network representing NHS leaders with disabilities.

Peter Reading
Co-Chair
Peter is Chief Executive of Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

Hattie Llewelyn-Davies
Co-Chair
Hattie is Chair of Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.
The Disabled NHS Directors Network exists to promote and support the progression and representation of disabled people in senior leadership roles across the NHS, by challenging structural, cultural and attitudinal barriers.
Our members span the country and work across a wide range of NHS organisations, bringing diverse professional backgrounds and lived experience of physical, mental, sensory and neurodivergent disabilities.
The network provides a national peer community for connection, shared learning and collective advocacy, and works to influence policy, leadership practice and organisational culture.
Grounded in the social model of disability, we focus on removing barriers rather than “fixing” individuals, and on building an NHS where disabled leaders are visible, valued and able to thrive.
We welcome enquiries, requests for support and invitations to speak at events. We are happy to contribute insight, lived experience and expertise to discussions on inclusive leadership, disability and organisational culture across the NHS.
